Stacey Solomon made a bold move as she decided to wear her wedding dress to the Bafta TV awards on Sunday – but she wasn’t the only guest donning a bridal gown.
The Bafta TV awards kicked off with a band on Sunday as celebrities began arriving in London at the Royal Festival Hall, with two famous guests opting to wear their wedding dresses.
Before arriving at the event, Stacey, 35, announced to her social media followers that she was reworking her wedding outfit from 2022, rather than buying something new for the awards ceremony.
And she wasn’t alone, with TV personality Vicky Pattinson sticking to the Bafta theme of sustainability, with attendees asked to where an outfit already in existence.
She stepped out in the dress she wore when she married Ercan Ramadan in 2024, but with a slight tweak: it had been dyed yellow in the months since her wedding.
Vicky said: ”For this year’s Baftas I wanted to give one of my wedding dresses a new lease of life. We were asked not to buy anything new for tonight but instead either rent or re-wear.
‘I’ve managed to get another wear out of an old favourite that I truly love, and I love that it made me shop my own wardrobe before getting something new.’
Ahead of the ceremony, Stacey spoke to her fans on her Instagram story and revealed her big Baftas plan: ‘Today I’m wearing my wedding dress.’
The former X Factor and I’m A Celebrity star added: ‘It makes me so sad that this is my favourite, most special dress I’ve ever bought, and I’ve only ever worn it once.
‘So I asked my stylist Faye (who has been my friend and stylist since the X Factor) and her incredible seamstress Izzy to rework my dress so that I can wear it again.’
She shared images of a seamstress working on the dress, then an image of herself from her wedding day three years ago.
For the Baftas, the dress was hemmed and reshaped. The off-the-shoulder sleeves were removed, and layers of the skirt were removed to create a more sultry look.
The dress was originally much longer with a long train that swept away from her body and fanned out. The reshaped style gave the look a slit so just shorts and a sheer layer remained on the bottom half.
Speaking about her look she wrote on social media : ‘off to the BAFTAs ✨ I’m so excited & so grateful to have been nominated for TWO @bafta this year. What in the heck is life 😂 Thank you BAFTA for this honour. And thank you to my @sortyourlifeout family & @bbciplayer for giving me the chance to present the most special show, it’s the best job in the world & I love every second of it.

Stacey and Joe were married on July 24 2022. The loved-up pair were married in the grounds of their Essex home, affectionately dubbed Pickle Cottage, after seven years together, surrounded by friends and family.
Announcing their nuptials, Stacey wrote on social media: ‘🕊Forever 🕊 Me and My Husband 😭 I don’t think I will ever get used to saying that. It all feels like a dream.’
She then quoted Dr. Suess: ‘You know you’re in love when you don’t want to fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.’
The couple has six children together, Stacey’s two children Zachary, 16, and Leighton, 12, plus Joe’s son from a previous relationship, Harry, 17.
The couple also has three younger children together: Rex, five, Rose, three, and two-year-old Belle.
The couple’s busy life with their large brood has been documented in a recent TV series titled Stacey & Joe. However, the couple is actually attending the Bafta award show for Stacey’s other series – Stacey Solomon Sort Your Life Out -which has been nominated for best Entertainment performance and factual entertainment.
